For the last three years, during the last two months of each year, the company I work for does a month long charity campaign raising funds, collecting goods, volunteering for community organizations. One organization funds were raised for was NMSS-National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The department that chose this charity decided to do a raffle ticket lottery of which half the funds raised would go to the society and half would go to a random winner at work.
Needless to say, when the winning raffle ticket was drawn, the person who had won was out-of-town so her identity was not revealed till yesterday. The great news was she won about $625.00!
Yet, despite her winnings, she decided not to take the money and run. Instead, she gave it back. Thus, over $1200.00 was donated to NMSS. As Willie Wonka once said, ‘So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
